I came to yoga during a stressful period of my life. (Hint: grad school). The strength and flexibility I retained from many years of gymnastics training transitioned well into my yoga practice. Although I do enjoy adventurous poses such as handstands and bakasana (crow pose), what I love most about yoga is the sense of calm and restfulness I get during and after my practice. I hope to impart that same peaceful and stress-relieving experience to each student who comes to class, as well as a bit of fun and adventure!
I received my 200-hour RYT certification with Jill Lawson yoga in 2012, then spent a year teaching yoga and working in Jamestown, VA. I am happy to be back in the Four Corners area and teach with my fellow teacher training graduates at Heart and Core Yoga Studio.
When I am not doing yoga you can find me working at the Anasazi Heritage Center (yay artifacts!), reading, cooking, or trying to garden. I strive to bring mindfulness and fun to all that I do, including teaching yoga. Come and join me!
