I discovered yoga in 2000 while looking for a tool to help calm myself down. After my first class, I knew I wanted to become a teacher and help everyone feel as good as I did that day. I pursued yoga education and became certified in 2001. I spent the next few years teaching at community recreation centers until my yoga practice propelled me into furthering my education to expand my knowledge of our physical beings. In 2007, I became a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Having numerous health issues early in life, I joke that I am living my health-life backwards. Through the practice of yoga, chiropractic therapy, and other therapeutic exercise, I am healthier now than I was in my 20s and 30s. Through my ongoing transformation, it excites me to help others learn more about the mind-body connections, and feel strong, balanced, and happy to mid-life and beyond.

With a deeply rooted love of nature, animals, gardening, and green living, I’ve had the opportunity to live in numerous communities that have each contributed to the growth and expansion of my way of life. Each experience has shaped me into the Yogi, hippie, and tree hugger that I am.

Early in 2017, my husband and I found Cortez. When we began to experience all that this community has to offer our way of life and the energy of the earth, we began our homestead. I am excited for this next journey in life, becoming a part of this community, growing, and learning every day.
